Integrative Functional Movement Training

Body Reform encourages regular strength, stability, and cardiovascular training as soon as it’s appropriate for our clients. Our Core Reform sessions are a bridge from injury rehabilitation…to the patient’s return to their own personal trainer or workout program. We will identify and correct postural and movement dysfunctions that have led to compensation patterns, injuries, and diminished sports performance. We’ll also help develop priorities based on each individual’s history and goals.  By restoring biomechanical integrity and movement quality we can marginalize, if not eliminate, the risk of inefficiency and injury. We welcome and encourage our patients’ private trainers into the studio with us to be a part of the transition.

For those without an existing fitness regimen, we provide private training in our studio as well. Our signature Core Reform workout fuses rehabilitative principles, Pilates, the Keiser Functional machine, Kettlebells, suspension trainers, ViPR, and our own exercise innovations.

Body Reform’s Integrated Functional Movement Training is perfect for people with connective tissue concerns such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder. Our trainers understand the complexities within this population and provide a safe place for them to exercise. Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) or Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD)

Keiser Functional Trainer
This versatile cable machine offers a complete body workout. Hundreds of exercises can be done in multiple planes of motion to assist in rehabilitation, strength training, stability, and sports-specific applications.

Suspension Training
The TRX and Jungle Gym systems use a single anchor point apparatus that provides the ideal mix of support and mobility to train strength, endurance, coordination, flexibility, power and core stability all at once and across a wide range of resistance. Movements using the suspension trainers integrate strength and balance into a single dynamic format that taxes the nervous system at a high level and maximizes the benefits of body-weight exercise for faster results.

Pilates
Body Reform utilizes the contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates. This system develops core strength, increased flexibility, and balance throughout the entire body.

Kettlebells
Kettlebells look like small bowling balls with handles. They allow you to gain strength, cardiovascular endurance, and functional core stability in one workout. Kettlebell swings are one of the most effective exercises to develop the important posterior chain muscles of the body such as the hamstrings, glutes, core, and back.

ViPR
This system uses cylindrical rubber devices to provide full-body movement with load in a manner that mimics functional activities of everyday life.
